Mother nature is not a force to be reckoned with. It was after all, just over 120 years since the last volcanic eruption at Mount Tongariro (1897). She has been sculpting the beautiful Tongariro Crossing for thousands of years. Together we must help by acting with the incorporation of Environmentally friendly procedures, to help preserve the natural beauty of the Tongariro Crossing.
Tokaanu Thermal Area
Located only five minutes from Parklands Motorlodge, natural thermal pools of the small Maori village of Tokaanu guarantee blissful post-skiing or post-fishing relaxation. The facility has 12 private indoor pools filled with hot water bubbling up from an underground spring, while the outdoor public pool is heated with chlorinated freshwater. These are open daily from 10am to 9pm.
